Hove, supplier of high-end lubrication solutions and grease cartridges, announces its latest partnership in the wind energy sector with Castrol. Hove has partnered with Castrol to supply wind energy customers in Europe and the US. Together, they offer Castrol Tribol GR SW 460-1 in Hove cartridges
As the adoption of wind energy increases alongside the broader shift toward renewable sources, wind power plays a significant role in reducing reliance on fossil fuels. However, maintaining wind turbines comes with specific challenges, particularly in ensuring proper lubrication to support their performance and longevity.
Castrol Tribol GR SW 460-1 in Hove cartridges
Tribol GR SW 460-1 is ideal for tough industrial applications, such as those found in wind turbine main bearings, pitch, and yaw bearings. It gives outstanding bearing protection under high loads at low to moderate speeds and in applications where water resistance is critical.
Castrol Tribol greases are based on Castrol’s unique MicrofluxTrans Plastic Deformation technology (MFT PD). It creates a protective layer on metal surfaces to reduce micropitting and wear, and potentially prolongs bearing life. When used together with Hove advanced lubrication technologies, wind operators can unlock new maintenance efficiencies, keeping the machinery working at optimum efficiency, as well as increasing its operational life.
Thomas Cramer, CCO of Hove, says: «Our partnership with Castrol strengthens Hove’s position in the market and opens new channels for us to market our solutions. It also allows Castrol to supply its lubricants using Hove’s specially designed cartridges. Furthermore, with Hove Smart Lube QR codes on all cartridges, Castrol can extend this offer to customers to help protect against lubrication-related breakdowns and costly downtime».
Hove Cartridges are designed for maximum durability and have been drop tested according to MIL-STD810H w/Change 1 standard, as of May 18, 2022. Their compact design ensures easy installation and removal, streamlining your maintenance processes. When used with Hove pumps, operators can save up to 1.5 hours per service visit, significantly reducing manual errors and minimising the risk of contamination.
Mathieu Boulandet, Vice President Industrial Castrol Europe, says: «At Castrol, we recognize the need for reliable and sustainable solutions. That’s why we’ve chosen Hove as our preferred partner to meet the needs of our aftermarket customers».
This partnership offers wind energy companies access to Castrol’s high-quality greases in combination with Hove’s advanced lubrication solutions, ensuring improved performance, reduced downtime, and long-term sustainability.
