With its agrisystems agricultural machinery centre, chain manufacturer iwis presents drive chains for harvesters. The new additions to the Elite range have been developed specially for use in round balers and, like all Elite agricultural machinery chains, are exceptionally wear-resistant. To meet OEM manufacturers’ differing requirements, the chains are available in various configurations.
Since agricultural machines operate outdoors, the chains used in them are exposed to harsh conditions such as dust, dirt, cold and damp. Moreover, after long idle periods in the winter their reliability is repeatedly put to the test. Developed especially for round balers of harvesters and available in a range of configurations, iwis’ Elite-branded chains are highly versatile, with the ideal design available for almost any make or model. The increased plate width improves the chains’ durability compared to other types. The pins receive a special heat treatment for improved wear resistance and the material combination of pin and bush has been optimised. The chains are factory-lubricated with a high-performance German lubricant.
With agrisystems, chain specialist iwis operates an agricultural machinery centre that is dedicated to meeting the special requirements of the agriculture industry. During the harvest season flexible production and dedicated stock levels ensure that spares are readily available for fast delivery. Together with OEMs, iwis agrisystems develops and implements tailored drive solutions. «The agricultural machinery sector does not consist solely of large, corporate mutlinationals. Numerous medium-sized specialists – often family-owned companies – are also working their share of the market», explains Thomas Cohrs, Key Account Manager at iwis agrisystems in Sontra. «Our technical consulting service in our Sontra centre of excellence as well as on-site assistance from our staff are available to both OEMs and end users of agricultural machinery, regardless of the problem at hand. Supply and speed of delivery are ensured through modern market-oriented logistics solutions.» Stringent quality assurance measures apply both to in-house production and to iwis’ contractors. «We were certified to DIN ISO 9001 as early as 1994. To ensure our products’ quality, we have our own inspection and test equipment» adds Thomas Cohrs. «We know the sector inside out and regard ourselves as development partner for tailored drive solutions. Flexibility in meeting special demands and fulfilling customer wishes is a key element of our service.»
