SMC introduces the JSY3000-L series 5-way, 64-station solenoid valve manifold
The new SMC’s 64-station valve manifold allows more components to be efficiently managed with a single manifold. SMC’s goal is to take the concept of centralized control management to a new level with the release-at the same time-of the JSY3000-P series, which allows electro-pneumatic controllers to be connected in the manifold together with solenoid valves.
Wide range of application
The new valve manifolds are ideal for centralized control of a large number of components in the same application, offering from 4 to 64 stations and 128 output points. This capability makes them ideal for general manufacturing and automation tasks for diverse industries.
Part of SMC’s extensive family of directional control solenoid valves, the JSY3000-L and JSY3000-P plug-in manifolds are particularly suitable for installation inside control panels. The advantages are manifold, among them a reduction in wiring and cabling operations, which, together with lower cost, results in fewer errors, quicker assembly, fewer possible communication failures, and a reduced number of wear elements. An additional benefit is the need for fewer SI (serial interface) units, a factor that again simplifies assembly and reduces product cost.

The new valves also feature compact dimensions. By using fewer cables and other components, assembling the equivalent of 64 stations saves up to 10 percent space in the JSY3000-L model and up to 28% in the JSY3000-P model. It is important to note that the simplest 64-station valve manifold configuration has a length of only 960 mm.
Intelligent communication
The wide range of fieldbus options is available through SMC’s EX260 SI unit for the JSY3000-L valve manifolds and the EX600 unit for the JSY3000-P. Valve manifolds with advanced communication capabilities offer several advantages, including remote monitoring and diagnostics. Immediate detection of problems such as component failures, short circuits, and cycle counting helps users optimize operation. SMC’s EX260 and EX600 compact SI units offer a centralized output system for serial transmission and provide compatibility with protocols such as PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT and IO-Link (the latter is only compatible with JSY3000-L). Users can connect up to eight input and output modules to the JSY3000-P series to control and receive signals from other elements and have overall control.
The JSY3000-L and JSY3000-P solenoid valve manifolds provide protection to the environment with their respective IP67 and IP65 ratings. In addition, customers can take advantage of various options to suit their specific applications, including blanking plates, individual blocks and blocking discs (for supply and exhaust) and silencers. These options allow for highly customizable solenoid valve manifolds that can be easily expanded or modified in the future for changing application needs.
