Last November, CAT management was onsite at Comer Industries Inc. to personally hand over the Silver SQEP certification plaque insert and to extend congratulations to Comer Industries. Comer Industries’ Planetary Drives & Axles plant in Cavriago, Reggio Emilia, Italy, performs remarkably in quality, logistics and on-time delivery (OTD).
Comer Industries has received the Silver Level SQEP (Supplier Quality Excellence Process) Certification from Caterpillar. This is a back to back certification, following the Bronze Level obtained last year. This award consists of the achievement of quality, logistics and on-time delivery standards for CAT’s partners.
Darin Goode, Category Purchasing Manager at CAT and Chris Burtscher, Category Team Lead at CAT, expressed their utmost gratitude towards Comer Industries as a supplier and as a partner in industry and asked to share CAT’s congratulations to the employees of Comer Industries Spa and Comer Industries Inc., the North American branch located in Charlotte, NC, USA. CAT’s team specifically highlighted the working relationship between Comer Industries and CAT which helps foster the day to day collaborations required to achieve Silver level certification.
“The efforts put forth by Comer Industries, on all levels from technicians to account management, is a testament of the company commitment to excellence in the eyes of Caterpillar.”, said Lane Boger, Application Sales Manager, Comer Industries Inc.
This important award brings great satisfaction and pride throughout Comer Industries, and specifically in the departments of Planetary Drives & Axles plant in Italy and at Comer Industries Inc. in the USA.
“This result is a clear sign of a great team effort within Comer Industries. Our Planetary Drives & Axles plant is full of competent and skilled people, with all the potential to get to the higher levels on the current and future market.”, said Paolo Scalabrini, Cavriago’ Plant Manager since last September. “Last year, our CPS (Comer Industries Production System) standards allowed us to obtain CAT Bronze Level; this methodology will have a flywheel effect to banish waste and to achieve the best performance at customer’ service.”, he added.
Next recertification will take place by October, 2015.
