Mattei Group launches a new academy: an international center of excellence for advanced training

A “physical” and structured project that transforms previous online training activities into a true hub of expertise

Mattei Group, a pioneer in the compressed air industry, has officially announced the launch of the Mattei Academy. This strategic and structured training initiative has been created with the goal of promoting a deeper understanding of Mattei compressors, rotary vane technology, its application advantages, and its crucial impact on energy savings.

The Mattei Academy is primarily aimed at the company’s worldwide network of distributors and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) customers. It is not merely a technical training center, but a genuine hub for expertise and networking, designed to collect international best practices, encourage the exchange of know-how, and strengthen a global community of compressed air professionals.

Building on a solid track record of successfully delivering training activities, including online programs, Mattei Group is now taking a significant step forward. The Mattei Academy is not simply an extension of previous courses; it is a comprehensive and structured initiative that marks the transition to an integrated growth platform. In an industrial landscape where technological innovation is advancing rapidly and energy efficiency has become an essential competitive requirement, the corporate academy becomes a strategic pillar. A thorough understanding of system efficiency enables partners to optimize processes and reduce operating costs.

The Academy’s true innovation lies in moving beyond traditional one-way training to create a cutting-edge hub. The Academy acts as a catalyst where distributors’ field experience, OEM manufacturers’ requirements, and the technological expertise of the parent company converge.

«A company with more than a century of industrial history, such as Mattei since 1919, carries a responsibility that extends far beyond manufacturing and sales» said Giulio Contaldi, CEO of Mattei Group. «We have a responsibility to preserve and transfer knowledge. A historic company has a duty to serve as a bridge between generations: we must ensure that the technological heritage accumulated over more than one hundred years does not remain confined to our archives but becomes a vital resource for the technicians of the future. With the Academy, we are creating a deep connection between the manufacturing culture of our region, the excellence of Lombard and Italian industry, and the international markets in which we operate. The idea behind this hub is precisely to build a network where the experience of seasoned professionals merges with the energy and digital mindset of younger generations—because the values that have always distinguished our compressors, namely longevity, reliability, and the elimination of waste, should also define the way we build and share knowledge. Human capital, like a well-designed machine, reaches its full potential only when it is nurtured, continuously developed, and built to last».

The key differentiator is the decision to deliver training in person. As explained by Lorenzo Monaco, Global Service Director of Mattei Group for the past year and coordinator of the project: «Online training has been, and continues to be, a valuable tool. However, in a high-tech manufacturing sector, we felt the need for a structured, hands-on project. Younger generations of technicians and engineers, in particular, need to see, dismantle, analyze, and physically interact with machines in order to fully understand their fluid dynamics, circuitry, and efficiency. The physical Academy was created precisely to meet this need for practical experience and direct engagement with the product».

The Academy’s training program, with courses delivered in both Italian and English, offers structured learning paths designed to meet every level of technical specialization:

Catalog courses

  • Compressor Technician (Code: TC): A foundational one-day course designed to provide an understanding of positive displacement compressors, analyze in detail the differences between rotary vane and screw technologies, study air and oil circuits, intake systems, and learn best practices for installation, maintenance, and warranty management, including the MyCare 6 service plan
  • Product-specific courses: One-day sessions dedicated to individual product ranges, including Blade Series (Blade 1-2-3, 4-5-7, 11, 8-12, 15-18-22), ERC Series (ERC 1-2-3, 4-5, 7-11, 15-18-22, 30-37-45-55), RVD and RVX Series
  • Control systems courses: dedicated modules covering electronic controllers, including Maestro XS, XB, and XC

Specialist On-Demand courses

  • Mattei Compressor Overhaul Training: an intensive practical program lasting from three to five days, entirely focused on complete compressor overhaul procedures
  • Thematic modules: one-day courses dedicated to inverter operation and management, air treatment systems, oil analysis (tribology), basic electromechanics for compressors, installation best practices
  • Energy Audit (MIEM): a course focused on advanced energy diagnostics for compressed air systems, aimed at maximizing energy savings

The Mattei Academy officially begins operations in June 2026 with the launch of its first classroom and workshop sessions. The official ribbon-cutting ceremony and inauguration of the facility will take place in June during a special event bringing together the Group’s partners, customers, and international stakeholders.
