MECSPE&Industry 4.0, the revolution is now!

85,000 square meters of exhibition space, 39,656 visitors, 1,592 exhibitors, 24 processing islands and demonstration units, 10 thematic areas, 10 thematic exhibitions, 6 squares of excellence, 72 technical conferences organized by companies, universities and associations: these are the numbers of Mecspe.fig1_mecspe

Among the most popular initiatives there was La Fabbrica digitale: oltre l’automazione©, the initiative that has shown the key role of industry 4.0 technologies across sectors and application contexts: from the simulation and 3D design, up to get to the internet of things (IoT) and augmented reality, through the RFID traceability and warehouse logistics, or all those technological innovations that make intelligent and optimize production factories.

“The fourth industrial revolution is today. Industry 4.0, capable of responding to the radical change that is sweeping the entire manufacturing sector, represents a real opportunity for growth and business: getting smarter factories, computerized, interlinked and automated, able to optimize production processes – says Emilio Bianchi , Director of Senaf – the question is how to put our entrepreneurs on this process of evolution and transformation? According to our Observatory them the way is still long, but we are going in the right direction. Approximately 46.4% of the mechanical contractors and subcontracting believes that his company has reached a good level of automation, computerization and interconnection, although 10% admit to be very far away “.

Youth training and the structuring of their skills in a time of great change in the business culture and the way of producing revolutionized by the new model of the digital factory has been the subject of numerous initiatives which ended in the Round Table which saw Fabio storchi, president of Federmeccanica, Ivano Parmigiani, President Group Plastic Rubber Unindustria Reggio Emilia, Maurizio Todeschini, National Secretary of CNOS FAP, the National Centre for Salesian Works and Andrea Bianchi, president Ascomut – Italian Association of machines and Tools Technologies, Stefano Moro – Production Control Dynamis PRC Politecnico di Milano, Mirco Rustici – Team UniPR Racing Team University of Parma. The rising tide of technological development makes us rediscover the centrality of human resources: on the one hand, the school must train the boys so that they are a practical resource providing expertise and professionalism, on the other hand the companies themselves are called to be ‘workshops training ‘for young people who then will transfer the lessons learned in other situations.

The 16th edition of Mecspe will return to  Fiere di Parma 23 to 25 March 2017.

In addition to the consolidated shows that characterize the event, the shows Subfornitura (mechanics subcontracting, electronics subcontracting, plastic subcontracting) and POWER DRIVE, dedicated to systems – components – Mechatronics. Moreover, the biennial show Trattamenti e Finiture will be back.
