Nowadays high levels of safety and comfort in the working environment are more and more important: Same Deutz-Fahr and Bosch Rexroth have based the hub of their collaboration on these aspects.
A study commissioned by HSE (Health and Safety Executive) of the United Kingdom has discovered that it is possible to reduce the daily exposure to noise by 3-16 dB (A), simply adopting measures to control the noise at the source. It is the line chosen by Same Deutz-Fahr, making use of the Silence Plus pumps by Bosch Rexroth.
The will of reducing the noise inside the cab as much as possible and of increasing the acoustic comfort has led Same Deutz-Fahr to adopt some measures directly acting on the pump, because the possibility of reducing pressure and flow rate pulses on the pump improves vibration and noise aspects. This is the reason that has convinced Same Deutz-Fahr to choose Bosch-Rexroth “Silence Plus” pump, introducing it into the models Deutz-Fahr Series 6 TTV and Same Virtus. The Series 6 represents for Deutz-Fahr the perfect synergy between technology and design. A machine standing out for its extraordinary productivity, thanks to the integrated efficiency of all systems and to an accurate study of components and instruments. The offer of the Series 6 extends from 120 CV to 190 CV, making this family a complete range for this segment. Same Virtus represents the feather in the cap of the new medium range Same for performances of the motor, hydraulic plant and cab ergonomics. All that according to Same vision: versatility in configurations, comfort for the farmer and user friendliness. With Silence Plus, Rexroth offers a state-of-the-art pump with external gears, where the noise level has been reduced by 15 dB (A) on average compared to standard ones. With regard to the others, it stands out for a much more pleasant and lower noise. Besides the noise reduction, there is also the decrease of machine operators’ exposure to noise. An advantage, the latter, which involves for machine manufacturers not only a cost saving, by eliminating secondary measures for the noise reduction, but also and especially the compliance with the noise limits prescribed by law, offering high efficiency and long service life of machines themselves. Core of the pump is the philosophy of involute-free helical gears, using the innovative profile of teeth to obtain a continuous fluid delivery. This assures a totally silent pump operation, moreover generating much fewer vibrations in the connected hydraulic plant. Inner axial forces generated by helical gears are balanced to avoid mechanical wear, thanks to apposite hydrostatic bearings. The Silence Plus pump can be used up to pressures of 280 bars, the pump couples better operator comfort with the high reliability that customers expect from Rexroth external-gear pumps. High comfort levels that allow the operator to face the long workdays in an optimal environment are nowadays a “must” that a tractor cannot give up.
The cab is a technologically perfect living space granting exceptional comfort: the base configuration of the Series 6 TTV Deutz-Fahr, for instance, already includes a seat with low-frequency pneumatic suspensions and automatic positioning, optionally with the availability of dynamic damping suspensions, a leap of quality in terms of vibrational comfort. In Same Virtus, the cab plays an essential role, too: it is a functional and comfortable working environment, in whose centre there is the exceptional visibility and the rational arrangement of all controls.
The smart use of technology
The Series 6 by Deutz-Fahr is its best expression: minimum fuel consumptions, polluting emissions compliant with the most severe standards and highest efficiency of productive factors. A winning mix to satisfy the constant search for the best performances. The models of the new Series 6 represent a fundamental evolution in the survey of medium-high power tractors with Powershift transmission: no more simple work instruments but efficient, productive, versatile and environment-friendly machines. From ploughing to road transport, from business applications to combined machining, the innovative Deutz TIER 4i motors with SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology are ready to accept the challenge of the future: high performances with low environmental impact. SAME Virtus was instead devised for people fond of machines featuring unique performances, in all details: from the braking system Power Brake to the higher cab comfort, provided with automatic conditioner; from the 3-stage Powershift transmission with APS and Speed Matching, to an exceptional hydraulics with 90 l/min and electro-hydraulic distributors. Finally, the control and the light panels contribute in one of the most convincing driving experiences.
Generally, hydraulic circuits and components are potentially affected by vibration and noise problems. To reduce the effects of such problems, some years ago Same Deutz-Fahr adopted a series of devices making use of “passive” components in the circuit that introduce volume expansions, variable rigidities and so on. The efficiency of such “passive” components is usually variable and depends on a series of operational conditions. In the development of the new ranges, SDF has gone much farther, adopting corrective measures that directly act on the energy source of hydraulic systems, that is to say the pump. The possibility of reducing pressure and flow rate pulses on the pump exerts positive effects in general on the hydraulic circuit, improving vibration and noise aspects. The steering circuit of the tractor has been identified as one of the most suitable circuits for maximising the above mentioned ameliorations, to the ends of the operators’ comfort. The steering circuit is controlled by the hydro-steering; the component is mechanically fixed to the cab structure and the operator’s control is performed by the steering wheel mechanically connected with the hydro-steering. For that circuit, SDF has introduced on the new ranges Deutz-Fahr Series 6 and Same Virtus the pumps with helical-teeth gears Rexroth “Silence Plus” instead of the traditional pumps with straight teeth, in order to achieve these advantages.
