Pneumax, head company of the homonymous Group and among the primary players in the automation sector since 1976, is a structure organized to combine competences, technological innovation and expertise. Due to unceasing investments in structures, technologies and human resources, the Group headquartered at Lurano (BG) has grown along the years, with the goal of supporting its customers as a real technological partner, standing out for the pursuit of continuous improvement and constant innovation of both products and processes.
At present, Pneumax Group includes 25 manufacturing and sales companies that employ over 730 workers in the world. In the three business units respectively dedicated to industrial automation, process automation and automotive, specialized engineers design solutions by combining the reliability of standard products and services with the flexibility assured by production processes conceived to manage customized variants at best, integrating electronic and digital technologies.
Automotive BU
The Automotive Business Unit by Pneumax implements a range of products dedicated to the sector’s manufacturing lines, with specific focus on Body in White applications. Clamping units, pivot units, pin packages as well as grippers, rotating units and complete multi-axis NC Locator positioning systems are developed to assure maximum reliability, precision, repeatability and energy efficiency, with devices that allow the highest saving offered on the market.
Among the main novelties, the solutions connected with both the component electrification and safety. The new electric clamping units from 24 to 48 V DC are equipped with extremely compact drives and with a multifield interface that allows the communication on all industrial protocols. They can generate 95% energy saving compared to a standard pneumatic unit. The presence of a single cable for the power supply and the management of encoder’s signals, safety drives with integrated safe torque off function and Level E performance share in making the installation of clamping systems user-friendly and safe.
Particular attention is paid also to the “safety” issue: an example of it is the development of Pneumax power clamps for the sheet metal clamping, equipped with integrated self-retaining system that allows keeping the pressing device in opening position even if the power supply is missing, without increasing the outer footprint of the device and assuring a solution protected against the residues of working processes.
Industrial Automation BU
Pre-assembled boards and systems, machine panels and kits, special products implemented in co-design with customers are just some of the modalities with which Pneumax develops the customization concept: from the optimized production of plug&play panels with integrated mechanics and electronics to the management of machine parts and systems, from the capability of implementing special solutions to their validation through a quality department equipped with forefront technologies for all types of tests and testing. Among the main novelties, the enlargement of the product range that can be interfaced with IO-Link protocol that includes proportional valves Series 1700 and the valve isles Series Optyma and Series 3000, up to the widening of 3000 range with the new 14-mm size.
Process Automation BU
The offer of solutions for the process automation by Pneumax includes a huge range of products that can vary in terms of both size, performance and material selection, manufactured for applications that can process gas, oil or other chemical and petrochemical products in compliance with international certifications such as ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, Ohsas 18001:2007, Atex, EAC, FM, Nepsi, CU_TR012 and SIL (Safety Integrity Level).
Valves, solenoid valves and air treatment units, either made of stainless steel or aluminium, are joined by solutions with integrated fully customized manifolds. Among the main novelties, Pneumax presents the high-capacity Volume Booster of the Flowplus series, available in the SS stainless steel version and aluminium SA, both highly resistant to corrosion. The Flowplus series has been designed to operate in the Oil & Gas sector and in general in all applications that need high output flows even under harsh environmental conditions (-60°C<T<+150°C).
