Mp Filtri: a new pole for innovation

MP Filtri invests in a new laboratory conceived to offer the best service to customers: 1200 square metres dedicated to research, development and tests on products already included in the catalogue and new applications.

The 1200 sq.m. laboratory is suitable for housing forefront instruments and machines.

The Italian company Mp Filtri looks at the future playing trump cards in the research and development sector. It amounts in fact to 2.5 million Euros the investment made during last months to implement and to equip, inside the historical headquarters at Pessano con Bornago (MI), a laboratory taking up 1200 sq.m, and suitable for hosting forefront instruments and machinery, with the target of carrying out researches and tests under extreme conditions on products intended for the world market. With this project, the company intends to increasingly represent a reliable partner for its customers in terms of design, analysis, testing and manufacturing of the final product. An investment that allows the company to constitute a real partner for its customers, collaborating with both engineering and research/development offices, and operating as all-round advisor about all that concerns hydraulics. The Centre was accomplished at the end of 2016 and for the entire 2017 it will be the focus of world manufacturers’ targeted visits.

Added value

“The laboratory – tells us the engineer Massimo Sanna, marketing manager of MP Filtri – is fully operating under the direction, starting from last January, of the engineer Alessandro Negro, who has joined our company after a long experience by competitor companies, to be appointed Laboratory Manager and to coordinate a team of 9 people who, with different tasks and in strict collaboration with the other 10 employees of the technical office, allow us to rely on a forefront structure that we can define as one of the most complete and important in the sector in Italy, without fear of denial. To be backed by an advanced structure of this kind means for us to boost further the innovation, the study and the experimentation of new filtering techniques and, most of all, it allows us to rely on a constant testing of the product performances. The availability of this structure will facilitate another function, the re-assessments and, if necessary, the improvement of our products already released on the market”.

Prestigious collaborations

Through the new laboratory, MP Filtri intends to grant the highest guarantee of quality and reliability to its customers: reliability concerning not only the already existing products but also the development of new prototypes, which are often “tailor-made” and therefore must be preventively tested. Even before conceiving a determinate product, today MP Filtri has arranged the suitable structure for dealing with a context of this kind and it is the only reality in Italy – and one of the few in Europe – which grants such a level of competences and service. This thanks not only to the new laboratory but also to important initiatives, such as the recent collaboration agreement established with Milan Polytechnics, with which the company will develop particular technical themes targeted to the development of long-term projects, facing also “extraordinary” tests proposed by the Polytechnics itself and making available its premises and its know-how for university students on the occasion of planned stages. “Already today– adds Sanna – a student of Polytechnics who is drawing up his degree thesis works full time by the laboratory, directly entrusted with a project that will allow us to make use of a system to analyse and to optimize internal procedures. We have already agreed three further projects with the Milan University and we are going to develop them in the next future according to the opportunities and the availabilities”.

The company

In the over fifty years of history, MP Filtri has characterized the hydraulic filtering industry with an offer able to meet the requirements of manufacturers in any industrial ambit, a more complete product range satisfying customers’ needs and a direct service that embraces the five continents. Today the company engages about 350 employees with whom it studies, develops, produces and markets a wide range of filters for hydraulic drives and a complete line of components for power transmissions and accessories for hydraulic units, pursuing the philosophy of the product customization.

Since the Eighties and Nineties, the Group has included also a foundry for aluminium die-casting and shell-casting, and a mechanical workshop for the treatment and processing of semi-finished products supplied by the foundry itself. Furthermore, in the research centre of the CMP Division, located by the British subsidiary, high-technology products to control the fluid contamination are designed, produced and continuously updated. The strong attention to the product quality and to the environment protection has allowed MP Filtri to obtain the ISO 9001 and ISO14001 certifications.

New line of MPFX and MPTX filters

The broad catalogue of MP Filtri now includes a new line of filters specifically designed for the return lines of hydraulic circuits, with the task of protecting the pumps and circuits themselves from the contamination contained in fluids in conformity with the ISO 4406 international regulation. The novelty introduced by the company in 2017 are the new series MPFX and MPTX, characterized by forefront technical peculiarities. The solution, called MYclean, consists of an exclusive profile of the filtering element and of the container with dedicated seal, ideal for all mobile applications. The products identified as MPFX and MPTX are also protected by specific patent applications. With this particular execution, characterized by a broad variety of functional schemes and of options that are fully equivalent to the corresponding standard MPF and MPT series, MP Filtri intends to make the replacement and the use of not original spare parts more difficult, in order to grant an always adequate after-market activity to OEM, protecting the performances and the service life of the machines in which these products are used.
